“Beyond the sparkle of success lies the wisdom of gratitude, reminding us to connect with others, share our access, and amplify the collective strength of shared knowledge.” In this special season of Thanksgiving, many of us reflect on how we’ve been blessed in different aspects of our lives, from family and friendships to professional accomplishments. It helps us to pause for a moment, acknowledge the journey we've chosen, and appreciate the victories, big and small.

However, some of us fail to recognize the little common things that contribute to our success and well-being, from the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the countless small moments to the good health and safety we always enjoy without great effort. May this season remind us to number our blessings and cherish every opportunity we have to enjoy whatever things God has entrusted in our keeping. May we always choose to look more at the bright side of every situation, searching for opportunities in every challenge, lessons in every loss, and gratitude in every circumstance.

In this episode with Dr. Derrick Burgess, his family, and his Podcast Team Members, we will discuss the essence of gratitude, reflecting on the impact it has had on his personal and professional journey. They will share insights into the challenges faced during transitions, the importance of family support, and discuss the sacrifices made by both himself and his loved ones in pursuit of growth and success. Tune in as we unfold the different things to be grateful for during this Thanksgiving season and explore the deeper meaning behind the journey of gratitude.

“Part of my calling is to impact others to be able to show people what's possible because I know that many people don't see a physician who looks like me. They don't see sometimes what they feel could be a good career for them. They just don't know how to access it.”– Derrick Burgess
