Showing Student Athletes What’s Possible

Representation matters, especially when young athletes are deciding what they want their future to look like beyond the playing field.

For many students at HBCUs, seeing a Black orthopedic surgeon in their community can help them recognize that careers in sports medicine and healthcare are possible for them too.

Sometimes, being visible is about more than representation. It’s about opening their eyes to opportunities they may not have known were possible and inspiring the next generation to pursue them.
